Joseph Mendla
An artist actively involved in making sculpture, Joseph Mendla has exhibited, taught, lectured, directed an art gallery, designed, built and operated a commercial art foundry, helped create an art school and has served on the boards of others. His distinguished career got a jumpstart with the award of the Belin Scholarship, allowing him to purchase the materials to create a large outdoor sculpture. The very next year Joseph won a lucrative Best in Show award for that piece, helping him move into new creative arenas.
